Interested candidate must have passed matriculation /secondary examination certificate or an equivalent degree from a recognised board.
The candidate must be citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan can apply. Any category candidate can apply for exam, provided they are an Indian. |

Yes, you can apply for SSC JE examination or any other examination under General Category even being a BC category candidates provided you hold the eligibility qualifications as per the general category candidates.
