Whether IIT's, NIT's, IIST etc. are duly approved by AICTE?
Will anyone let me know the fact whether all the Technical degrees offered by various IIT's, NIT's, IIIT's, IIST Thiruvanantpuram etc. are duly recognised/approved by AICTE? If not, why this approoval is mandatarily stressed upon the technical degrees offered by other institutions as well as Universities constituted under State legislature and duly approoved by UGC?
I am asking this question in context to a Public advisary just released by AICTE asking students and parents to ensure before seeking admissions whether the institutions in question are duly recognised/approved by AICTE or not. The students are sincerely advised to refrain from such institutes to avoid trouble in future. It is noteworthy that number of latest technical streams like nanotechnology, converging technology robotics etc. are still beyond the scope of AICTE current approval list. It means such technical field to which AICTE does not recognise or accord any approval should be banned in this country at the pleasure (or rather say whims and fancy) of AICTE. Dr. B. C. Rathore |

Definately yes IITS and all other national institutes which you listed are approved by AICTE. Dont worry if your talking about IITs,NITs,IIITs and IISTs as all these institutes are institutes of national importance so all their courses are AICTE approved.
If you could have mentioned the link to this public advisary then I could have thought more on this. But according to me all these are duly approved. |

Re: Whether IIT's, NIT's, IIST etc. are duly approved by AICTE?
no these institution are not AICTE approved. this is a question of debat. but these are the top institution of india so there may be not AICTE approved but they are top. actually AICTE can easily approve these institution but it is not required by the institution. otherwise these institution can easily fulfill the criterion to get the AICTE approval.

Re: Whether IIT's, NIT's, IIST etc. are duly approved by AICTE?
Sirji, find the list of approved institutes on AICTE and come to know the bare fact that these are not approved by AICTE. Keep aside the mere notion of 'national importance' because no such fact of this so called importance 'statutorily exempts' these institutes from mandatory approval as per the rules of AICTE.

Re: Whether IIT's, NIT's, IIST etc. are duly approved by AICTE?
No IITs are not approved by AICTE.Because when IITs came into existence there is no body called AICTE.
It is formed to ensure qualities in technical education as many new institutions started to offer technical education. And the approved list by AICTE is beyond the robotics etc., because no college is so high standard to offer the best in India currently. |

Re: Whether IIT's, NIT's, IIST etc. are duly approved by AICTE?
Dear brothers/sisters,
I am highly thankfull to all of you for your kind expressions, still I would like to initiate further. India is a democratic state, not despotic one at all. We are governed by “Rule of Law’. No one, howsoever high in his position, is above the law. The mere assumption that IIT’s, IIIt’s, NIT’s, IIST etc. bear a very high position, these are institutions of National/International acclaim etc. dose not exempt them from the legislative mandate unless it is specifically provided. Once it is the statutory requirement that all the technical institutions imparting technical education shall have to seek the recognition and approval of AICTE otherwise the degrees conferred by such institutions shall be null and void, these institutions may not flout/defy this mandate unless otherwise specifically provided for. Once, it is not mandatory to these high institutions, how can you talk about others? May our Constitutional Head (The President of India) or the Head of the Government (The Prime Minister of India) keep a unlicenced GUN without a valid Licence duly issued by a competent Authority (The District Magistrate, who is sitting at the bottom of hierarchy) under the relevant provisions of The Indian Arms Act? Certainly not. Don’t you remember our PM last year personally visited RTO Delhi for mere renewal of his Driving Licence. Why? Some of us are of opinion that AICTE was not in existence when these institutions came into being. If so, what about those IIT’s, NIT’s, IISTetc. those emerged after the existence of AICTE? Again, I would like to underline my concern why some institutions feel themselves above the law and do not comply with the mandatory provisions of seeking approval from AICTE despite legislative mandate and why the others are saddled with stigma that ‘students must refrain from those institutions those are not duly recognized by AICTE otherwise…...' Why this discrimination and step-motherly treatment even when we proudly say, “we are a democratic state, governed by Rule of Law and No one is above the Law?” Your kind responses may bring this debate to a logical end.Regards, Dr. B. Re: Whether IIT's, NIT's, IIST etc. are duly approved by AICTE?
dear friend,
For your kind information, i would like to say that the approval of AICTE is mendatory for the recent opened colleges. AICTE is the council which decide about the education pattern follow by any institution is up to the mark or not. IITs established before the establishment of AICTE, so it need not to be approved by AICTE. But all other colleges are approved by AICTE. good luck. |

Re: Whether IIT's, NIT's, IIST etc. are duly approved by AICTE?
Quote:
The college or university should be recognized by AICTE or other Governmental body which provides affiliation for courses. Kalinga University has the University status under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 by the MHRD, Government of India in 2004. It is accredited by NAAC of UGC with 'A' Grade and all the technical courses are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE. So, you should not be worried regarding affiliation of this university. It is a well established and approved college. |

hello sir you don't have to worry about the affiliation of the KIIT University I had also the same problem but i have asked from the admission director about the above issue and now i am studying in this university in the EEE branch the KIIT university stands out as one of the finest Universities of India declared under section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956. The small engineering college of yesteryears has now been transformed into a world class university spread over 25 sq. km. of land accommodating 17 sprawling wi-fi campuses with 7.5 million sq.ft. built up area. The university has 22 constituent schools offering 50 programmes. It is not the world class infrastructure alone but the quality teaching and research illustrated by the accreditation of NAAC of UGC and NBA of AICTE that make KIIT one of the most promising centers of excellence. for other details you can visit the official website :: http://kiit.ac.in/index.html |
