Whether Lasik Surgery is not permissible in Merchant Navy?


Sir, my left eye power was -11D and after a Lasik Surgery it becomes 6/6. I want to join Merchant Navy. Kindly tell me can I join Merchant Navy as I have heard from my friends that Lasik Surgery is not acceptable. I am really worried. Please tell me immediately.

Yes, you can join merchant Navy with LASIK surgery. You can join as deck cadet. Though marine engineers can wear spectacles for eyesight upto plus/ minus 2.5. Colour blind candidates are not allowed.
