Sir/ Maam,
I am a 2nd year BSc Economics (Hons) student under the Calcutta University. I want to join the IAF flying branch. My problem is that I have myopic vision. Will I be able to be a "fighter pilot" if I opt for LASIK surgery and correct my vision?

no dear you can not apply for the fighter pilot because they require candidate with 6/6 eye site without any diability

Dear aspirant,

-Sorry friend if you have want to become fighter pilot then you should have done your graduation with physics or maths or engineering.

-B.Sc Economics graduate are not eligible to become fighter pilot.

-To become a fighter pilot one should be from physics or maths field.

-One can join air force as pilot through CDS and AFCAT exam.

-The eyesight rules are also very strict in air force so if you have any problem in eyes then your chances of getting selected are very less.

-So don’t get disheartened you can apply for any other government job.

The eligibility criteria involves the following features:
A candidates' age should not less than 18 year
Eye Sight :
Your vision in one eye must be perfect - 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
Physical Fitness :
You must be physically fit and free of any disease that can hamper normal functioning.
Educational Qualification:
A candidate must be 10+2 with Maths and Physics with at least 50% marks
