Hello Sir/Madam, I am planning to apply in UPSC-IAS recruitment of this year. But before that I would like to know about the age criteria, that is, what is the age limit for applying in this recruitment? Please let me know about the age criteria immediately.

Age limit to apply for UPSC-IAS recruitment:


Age limit (as on 01.08.2019):

Minimum age - 21 years
Maximum age - 32 years

Age relaxations in upper age limit are as follows:
OBC - 03 years,
SC/ST - 05 years,
Defense Services Personnel - 03 years,
Ex-servicemen - 05 years,
The candidates with low vision/blindness, ex-servicemen muscle deformity - 10 years

Interested and eligible candidates can apply on or before 18/03/2019.

Age limit to apply for UPSC-IAS recruitment is mentioned below :-

—> Minimum Age :- 21 years as on 01.08.2019

—> Maximum Age :- 32 years as on 01.08.2019

Upper age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per government rules to apply for UPSC-IAS recruitment.

First thing I would like to let you know that UPSC IAS recruitment examination is officially known as the Civil Services examination which is held by UPSC once every year.

Further, the age criteria to apply for the same examination is 21 years to 32 years as on 01.08.2019. Age relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category candidates as per the government norms which includes upper age limit relaxation of 3 years for OBC category candidates and upper age limit relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST category candidates.

Name of the Organization - Union Public Service Commission

Name of the Services - Indian Administrative Services

>> The minimum age required - 21 years

>> Maximum age allowed - 32 years

Age criteria is considered as on 1st August, 2019 and of course there will be an age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per Indian government norms.

Civil Service examination is conducted for recruitment as an I.A.S

The examination is conducted by UPSC. It is conducted in three stages.

The required educational qualification is bachelor degree in any discipline and the age limit is 21-32 years as on 01st August 2019. Relaxation for reserved category in upper age limit.

Civil Service Examination is conducted by UPSC.

The age limit is :-

General - 21-32 years.

OBC - 21-35 years.

SC/ST - 21-37 years.

The age will be as on 01st August of year of appearing for the examination.

Minimum Age for Civil Services IAS Exam is 21 year. Candidate must have attained a minimum age of 21 years for this examination. The separate maximum Age limit has been set for different categories.
