Dear friends, I am interested in applying for the UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination of 2020. I would like to know about the eligibility criteria for applying in this examination. Can you please let me know about the eligibility criteria asap? Waiting for your response!

The eligibility to apply for UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination 2020 is a candidate must have passed bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. The candidate must be physically fit according to physical standards which is given in the Civil Services examination notification.

UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination 2020 :

* Eligibility criteria

Candidates should possess graduate degree in any discipline of university//Institution established or incorporated by an Act of Parliament or declared a Deemed University under the UGC Act, 1956.

Candidates who are in final year of graduation are also eligible for the exam.

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards given in the Civil Services exam notification.

Maximum age limit should be 32 years and minimum age limit is 21 years .

UPSC conducts Civil Service Examination for recruitment of an I.A.S, I.P.S officer.

Nationality - Indian, Subject of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugee who cam to India before 1st of January 1962 and an Indian origin migrant from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, etc.

Educational Qualification - Applicants must be a graduate or have equivalent qualification from a recognised University.

Age limit - 21 years to 32 years

Number of attempts - 6 attempts

Candidate must be a holder of Bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university.
Candidate age should be at least 21 years and not more than 32 years.
Age should be calculated as on 01/08/2020.

* You must be an Indian citizen.

* Your age must lie within 21 years to 32 years as on 01.08.2020. Age relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category as per the government norms.

* You must have completed your graduation degree course in any discipline from a recognised university. Students pursuing final year of their bachelor's degree course are also eligible.
