Eligibility criteria required to become Income Tax Officer under Income Tax Department:

The basic eligibility criteria required to become Income Tax Officer is given below,

Name of the job position- Income Tax Officer

>> You must have done Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or college.

>> The minimum age required is 18 years and maximum age should not exceed 27 years. Of course there is an age relaxation for reservation category candidates.

The candidate should need to pass SSC CGL Exam to get an ITO job under Income Tax Department in India. The candidate should be a graduate of any recognized university/institution.

The candidate should not be more than 17 years old to be eligible for SSC CGL Exam.

Education qualification:-
Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent as on the date of eligibility.

Age limit :-
Your age must not exceed 30 years if you are from general category to apply for the post.

Age relaxation:=
For OBC - 3 years,
For SC/ST- 5 years.
For PH - 10 years.

Selection procedure:-
The selection process for SSC CGL examination consists of 4 stages.
After qualifying each stage and scoring good marks in each stage you will be eligible for the Income Tax Officer post.

The basic eligibility criteria to apply for this post under Income Tax Department is graduation and you have to appear in the government exam that is known as SSC CGL that is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year.
If you qualify SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2 and interview round successfully, then as per your rank you will be given the post applied or not.
