The procedure to become Superintendent of Police in Jammu and Kashmir which is an integral part of India is same as like in other states as well as UTs.

To become S.P, you will have to appear and qualify in the Civil Service examination. The examination is conducted in three stages.

For more information about the examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

Civil Service Examination is conducted by UPSC. It is conducted for recruitment as an IAS, IPS, and other officers in central service.

The required educational qualification to apply for the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Examination is conducted in three stages.

Students must graduate from 10+2 from a recognised board and persue a bachelor's degree in any field .
This is a minimum academic requirement to become SP.
After this students have three options that one can choose from
The first option is to appear for UPSC CSAT and score a rank above 100.
The second option is to appear for State Public Service Commission Exam.
The third option is sub inspector entry in to State Police Department.
There are fixed number of seats hence students need to score a rank in the exams.
