I am a student of B.Tech 2nd semester
My stream is Chemical.....I just want to
know how to prepare for ifs exam...
i mean indian foreign service exam.....

IFS officers are selected through Civil service exam. It is conducted by UPSC.

It has three stages, prelims, mains and interview. Prelims is held in August. If you clear prelims, then you can apply for mains exam after that you have Interview round.

Overall, around 900 candidates are selected in this exam. IFS is allotted for candidates to 40-50 candidates.

Since syllabus is very huge. You can either take coaching or find someone who can guide. This is necessary as at this stage you don't know what to read and pattern of exam. Besides, you can start reading The Hindu now onward regularly. You can read monthly magazine if you have time. One magazine is sufficient.

IFS - Indian Foreign Service is the entrance exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC). The Candidates who are qualified can serve under State and Central Governments.

ELIGIBILITY:

* Candidates should complete their Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Statistics of a recognized university or equivalent.

* However, the candidates who are studying their final year can also compete in the examination.

PREPARATION TIPS:

* Plan properly and focus on the weak areas of your subject.

* Refer the books - use useful books to cover the syllabus in less time.

* Study previous exam papers to get a good idea about the exam pattern.

* Dicuss with people who are appearing for the IFS exam.

* Get your Doubts Clarified by the experts.

* If your speed is not Good, work on it by setting a fix time to answer a question or solve a question paper.

* Stay positive, Relax and stay motivated.
