What is the pattern of UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination 2020? Cost of application?


Hello friends, I am going to apply for the UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination of 2020. I just want to know about the pattern of this examination. Can anyone tell me about the pattern? Kindly tell me about the cost of this application as well.

The examination pattern of UPSC IAS Preliminary Examination 2020 is given below.

Examination Mode - Offline
Medium - English and Hindi
Number of Qualifying Paper - 2
Total Weightage - 400 Marks (200 Each)
Types of Questions - Objective
Duration - 2 Hours
Negative Marking - One Third (0.33) for each Incorrect Answer

The cost of the application form for General/EWS/OBC is Rs.100 and for SC/ST/Females/Persons with Benchmark Disability there is no fee. I am also giving you the website link for your reference that is www.upsc.gov.in

Civil Service Examination is conducted by UPSC.

It is conducted in three stages -

Preliminary.

Mains.

Interview.

Preliminary stage objective type while Mains is Subjective.

Compulsory to qualify in each stage of examination to qualify for next stage and qualify in all three of them for final selection.

Examination is conducted in three stages -

Preliminary - Two paper objective based.

Mains - 7 paper counted for merit and two qualifying paper. Subjective based.

Interview.

Mandatory to qualify in each stages for final selection.

The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Test 2020 will be of 400 marks, two papers of 200 marks each. Further, Paper I will be General Studies while the Paper II General studies will include question paper of English, Aptitude, and General Science.

Also, the cost of application for the same examination is Rs 100/- for all candidates excepting Female/ SC/ ST/ Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee.
