Sir; I am the student of class 12th commerce. I am very much interested to become an Income Tax officer I don't know anything about the income tax. sit please help me to know what subject i have to choose after 12th to become an income tax officer .

And what steps should i take to become an Income Tax Officer ?

To become an income tax officer you need to be a graduate.

Age should be between 18-27 years

The graduation can be done in any subject from any recognized university.

Then you have to give an exam conducted by ssc.

If you get the required marks then you will be asked to go for the personal interview.

In order to become Income Tax Officer, you must have to meet the required eligibility criteria. The minimum educational qualification required is given below,

>> Hence, you may go for any degree in which you are very much interested.

To become an Income Tax Officer, You must have completed a Graduation degree in any subject from any recognized University or Institute and you will have to appear in SSC CGL Exam and you have to qualify for the exam to get eligible for this post.

You can become officer in Income tax department after qualifying in Civil Service examination or Combined Graduate Level examination.

The eligibility to appear for the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university. The age limit varies with examination. So, you can pursue bachelor degree and after completion of the degree eligible for final selection.

To become Income Tax Officer you have to appear for SSC-CGL exams.

You can choose any subject after 12th in your graduation to apply for SSC-CGL.

Candidate must have pass graduation degree from any recognised University to apply for SSC-CGL exams.

Age limit:-
The minimum age limit is 21 years and maximum age limit is 27 years.
Upper age relaxation for OBC is up to three years. For SC/ ST it is up to five years.
For PWD it is up to 10 years.

So, you are free to select any subject in your graduation as per your choice.

To become an income tax officer, you have to appear for the SSC CGL exam.
And the minimum educational qualification required to appear in this examination is graduation from a recognised University. It would be better for you, if you choose non medical stream in your 11th and 12th standard.
The questions in the exams are asked from the mathematics subject.
If you want to successfully complete SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2 exam and interview exam then you are eligible to become an income tax officer.

To become an Income Tax Officer you can choose your graduation in any discipline as there are no specific academic qualifications or degrees required to enter this profession. A candidate must have passed a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. The candidate's age should not be more than 27 years. The candidate has to appear for the SSC CGL examination (The Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level) to be recruited for various posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India.

The candidate can pass the 12th exam from any stream to be eligible for the post of Income Tax Officer. But if you choose arts or commerce stream in 12th class. It will be more beneficial for you. Subjects like economics, political science, accountant are important for the UPSC exam in India.

Questions from the subjects like civics, economic are asked more than the subjects of Science stream or maths syream in the UPSC exam.

It is not mandatory to have completed bachelor degree in any specific subject to become eligible for recruitment in Income tax.

Candidates passed bachelor degree in any discipline can appear for the examination and after qualifying in the examination eligible for selection as Income tax officer.

So, you can pursue any stream as per your choice.

After 12th standard, you should choose mathematics honours to become an income tax officer.
To become an income tax officer, you should qualify in SSC CGL exam.
So, if you once successfully complete SSC CGL Tier 1 and 2 exam and interview exam then you are eligible for Income Tax Officer post.
Minimum educational qualification required to apply for this exam is complete a degree course form a recognised Institution.
