Sir, I have secured 49% in my graduation and also completed my post graduation. Am I eligible to join B.Ed Course? Can you please let me know the minimum criteria which are followed? It will be really helpful if you can answer me back soon. Thank you!

To be eligible to join B.Ed course, you should have passed Bachelor's degree course in Science/ Arts/ Commerce stream with minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ ST) marks from a recognised university. So, if you belong to SC/ ST category, you are eligible to get admission for pursuing B.Ed course with 49% aggregate marks in your graduation course.

Sorry, it is not possible to join B.Ed course after completion of graduation with 49% marks. Minimum eligibility to join B.Ed course is a pass in Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Arts or Science or Commerce or social sciences or bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. Admission to the B.Ed course is done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the entrance examination. Therefore, it is not possible to get admission to the B.Ed course after completion of graduation with 49% marks. The B.Ed course is useful for those who want to pursue their career in the teaching profession.

Most of the universities ask for 50% marks in graduation for B.Ed admission, hence, if you belong to general or OBC category, then 49% will not be enough for admission.

Only in case of reserved category, there will be some chance of applying, after claiming relaxation of 5% marks.

B.Ed stands for Bachelor of Education and the duration of the course is 2 years. The minimum eligibility for B.Ed is graduation in any stream with minimum 55% marks from a recognized college/university. Master's degree qualified candidates are also eligible for the course. Candidates who belongs to reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC/PWD will get relaxation of 5% marks. There is no age limit for B.Ed, so if you fulfill all the above eligibility then you can apply for B.Ed course.
