Of course, this is actually a preffered route. The knowledge gained is directly applicable both to med school and the MCAT.
Granted, you could technically study medicine after any undergraduate major. Physics. Engineering. Dance. Philosophy. Etc. |

Re: BSc Biochemistry graduate can opt for medicine?
Yes, a BSc Biochemistry graduate can choose to pursue a career in medicine. While a biochemistry degree provides a strong foundation in understanding the chemical processes of living organisms, it may not cover all the required subjects for medical school. However, many medical schools accept applicants from various academic backgrounds.
To become a doctor, a biochemistry graduate would typically need to meet the prerequisites for medical school, which often include coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, and other related subjects. Additionally, they would need to take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and complete medical school applications. It's important for individuals considering this career transition to research specific medical schools' prerequisites and admission requirements. They may also benefit from seeking guidance from academic advisors or mentors who can provide more tailored advice based on their individual circumstances |
