I'm studying btech 2nd year in EEE. can i join hotel management ? if so what are the possibilities?

Yes, you can join in Hotel Management course being a B.Tech 2nd year student. The minimum educational qualification required to pursue this course is completion of 12th or equivalent from a recognized board.

You can apply for Hotel Management course on the basis of 10+2. You have to leave B.Tech for joining Bachelor in Hotel Management course which will be of 4 years duration. It will not be a wise decision to leave B.Tech in 2nd year but it is your decision. It is up to you decide what is good for your future.

There is entrance examination conducted by PUSA and IGNOU for admission into Hotel Management course. There are IHMs across the country for which this entrance is conducted and those who score good marks in it have chance of getting admission in top colleges.

You must have 50% marks in 10+2 to become eligible for this entrance examination. Any stream 10+2 pass outs are eligible for this exam. Hence, if you are really interested in Hotel Management then this is the best option for you.

There are many private colleges too which conduct their own entrance exam. You can apply for those too but the fee will be a bit high compare to IHMs.

Being a 2nd year engineering student, you can apply for the course, but on the 12th basis.

And one thing more, you cannot study 2 courses simultaneously, according to the norms of UGC.

So, you would have to quit engineering, if you want to do an Hotel Management Course.
