Respected Sir/Madam, I want to study BE Marine Engineering course. For this I want to apply in AMET BTech Entrance Exam. Can I know about the eligibility criteria of AMET BTech Entrance Exam of 2020? Kindly tell me immediately.

About AMET Entrance Exam 2020
Academy of Maritime Education and Training(AMET) will conduct AMET 2020 for admission to various programmes offered by the institute, including B.E./B.Tech, M.E, and M.B.A. The entrance exam will be conducted in online mode at an all-India level across more than 20 centres. Questions of the exam will be objective type, but the syllabus will vary depending on the programme the candidate has opted for admission. Admission to most programmes will be based on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying and entrance exam. Exceptions include B.E Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering course, which will offer direct admission to candidates who have qualified JEE Main or AIEEE. M.B.A programme also has provision for direct admission for candidates who have qualified CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, JMET, or TANCET.

AMET Entrance Exam B.E Eligibility Criteria
AMET 2020 eligibility criteria is an aggregate of conditions that a candidate has to meet to be considered for admission to a specific academic programme offered by the institute. Considering Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) offers a wide range of courses, including B.E/B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA programmes, the eligibility criteria also differ accordingly. Given in the table below are the AMET eligibility criteria for admission to B.E/B.Tech programmes.

B.E Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering


The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 5% relaxation applies to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates.

B.E Petroleum Engineering

The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks.


SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates need 45% marks only.

B.E. Mechanical Engineering


The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 5% relaxation applies to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates.


The candidate also needs to have scored minimum 50% marks in English in 10 or 10+2.

B.E. Electrical Electronics Engineering


The candidate must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates need to score at least 45%.


Age limit: The candidate mustn’t be more than 25 years of age on the day of commencement of classes.

B. Tech. in Food Processing Technology


The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks.


B.E Mining Engineering


The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 or an equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together. 5% relaxation applies to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates.


The candidate also needs to have scored minimum 50% marks in English in 10 or 10+2.

B.E. Marine Engineering


The candidate must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent exam with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Minimum 50% marks in English is also mandatory


Age limit: The candidate needs to be below 25 years of age on the day of commencement of programme.


Medical Standard: The candidate should be physically fit to serve in the sea, with eyesight up to 6/12 in both eyes or 6/9 in better eye, 6/18 in other eye and with no colour blindness

Eligibility to apply for AMET BTech entrance exam 2020:-
The candidate must have passed 12th or any equivalent exam with at least 60% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
Minimum 50% marks in English is also mandatory.
Age limit:-
The candidate needs to be below 25 years of age on the day of commencement of programme.
Medical Standard:-
The candidate should be physically fit to serve in the sea, with eyesight up to 6/2 in both eyes or 6/9 in better eye, 6/18 in other eye and with no colour blindness.
