It is good that you have completed your Computer Science Engineering and looking for the job opportunity in Government sector.

If your qualification is BE in Computer Science Engineering, then you are eligible to apply for both the Exams of IAS Exam and IES Exam.

For IAS, there is no IAS Exam but there is Civil Services Exam which is the common written exam to be placed in all the civil services of India like IAS, IPS, IFS etc.

Candidates who have completed Graduation with any of the stream are eligible to apply for Civil Services Exam.

The complete selection procedure would involve
CSAT Exam
Main Exam
Interview

IES Exam will be conducted to recruit the candidates into various Engineering Services like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc.

Candidates who have completed Graduation in Engineering are eligible to apply for this Exam.

The age criteria required will be same for both the exams

21-30 years of age for the candidates of General category.
Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.
Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category.

One thing I want to suggest you is that, it is not a good choice to carry out preparation for both the exams at a time.

You may not complete the syllabus required for both the exams.

High level of preparation should be required for the candidates to crack any of these Exams since the competition is huge.

My suggestion would be better to apply for IES Exam by having good preparation.

Eligibility for IAS Examination

as per the UPSC guidelines..the students fulfilling these following criteria will be eligible for appearing in the Civil Service Exams :-

1)the candidate must be a graduate degree holder from a recognized college in India..
2)the candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years of age for general category..less than 33 years for OBC and less than 35 years for SC/ST
you have a maximum of 4 attempts fr clearing the exam..

the exam consists of two rounds..

1)Prelims:- this consists of two papers and they test your current affairs,aptitude and general knowledge..
2) Mains:- after clearing the prelims..you become eligible for the MAINS..this is based on your graduation subjects..

if you clear both the rounds then you will be eligible for the interview..

dear friend ,

any candidate after the completion of the graduation from any of the recognized indian university and the age of between 21 to 30 years can apply for the ias exam.
as per ies exam is concerned , this exam is about the engineering services .

after the B.E. means after the graduation in bachelor's of engineering you can apply for the ias or ies exam mentioned that you age should be between 21 to 30 years.

you can apply for IAS examination if you have passed degree of the engineering you are
eligible for it you should sure appear to this examination

according to me both are equally good and both are good career options for the engineering students ....
but as you have done the b tech from the electrical engineering so i would suggest you to do the IES from the electrical branch as you have studied the syllabus for the last 4 years ........

to appear for the IES and the IAS exam you should have good basic knowledge of your subjects and concentrate more on the 3rd and the 4th year papers taught in your B.E or the B tech degree.....

and study and do the preparation according to the syllabus of the IES and the IAS exam .......

according to me B.E computer science and engineer can definitely apply for the IAS and IES exam
but then they have to fulfill all the eligibility criteria like minimum of the 60% marks in the B tech or graduation degree ....

--Any candidate who has done graduation from a recognised university/college can appear for Civil Services Examination for IAS(Indian Administrative Services) Examinations conducted by UPSC.
--for IES(Indian Economic Services) Examinations only those candidates who have done Post-Graduation in Economics and related fields can apply. In civil services examinations there are two parts.
--In preliminary examination there is one paper of General studies and one other paper is to be chosen from a list of many subjects.
--CS and IT branches Pupil generally have to depend on Mathematics.
--The mains paper is more extensive consisting of General Studies, English, One Indian Language, two optional papers and Essay.
--Finally there is interview after which final selections are done.

you can appear in the exam of IAS and IES.But i want to inform you that there is no

syllabus for CSE student .Therefore you have to give exam in other subject like math,

physics,electronics etc.

So,think first and then go for preparation.

For IES: Candidate having engineering degree in mechanical, civil, ece, electrical branches can appear only for IES exam. Other candidates should fill IAS exams.

the eligibility criteria for IES exam is you must have complete your graduation in engineering field..

and the criteria for IAS exam is you must have complete your graduation in any field..

so, you are eligible for IES and IAS..

but there is no any subjects related to your fields.

so you have to choose the another subjects from the pool of the subjects.

but for the IES examination you are not eligible ,

because for this exam only mechanical/electrical/electronics/civil engineering is eligible/

yes, student of B.E. in computer science can appear for IAS exam.because the minimum eligibility criteria for appear in IAS exam is pass in graduation with any discipline.

but you can't appear in exam with your subject computer science.as your subject is not is the list of subjects prescribed by UPSC. you can take any two subjects out of 22 subjects fixed by UPSC.

but you can't appear for IES exam.because computer science engineering students are not eligible for IES exam.

definately you can appear in IAS exam.

as criteria to attain in the IAS exam is minimun graduation degree with 60% marks throughout the career.

in IAS exam you can choose your departmental paper as well as your preferable papers.

To write IAS examinations,minimum requirment is degree in any course.B.E in computer science and engineering is also qualified to write IAS and IES examinations.But remember one thing that you must have 60% percentage in B.E.this is must to write that exams.
