If you have Mechanical engineering as your bachelor's degree, then you will get direct entry to merchant navy with your B.tech ME degree at the post of Engine Cadet/ Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer..... after getting admission, you have go through a Pre-sea course of 9 months duration in Marine Engineering conducted by the MERI. |

Marine engineering has great demand and you can earn more but at the same time you should be ready to stay away from home for a long period of time. As you have completed your graduation or engineering in non marine specializations directly you will not be eligible to take admission into masters program. Initially you have to complete some foundation courses.
