this test is also useful because the static cone resistance values can be correlated with "N" values obtained from the standard cone penetration test and hence an equations can be developed which can make the use of both the values , the cone penetration test results are extremely reliable for the soft soils and give excellent results but they are not used for the gravel soils and hence do not give the proper results when they are used in the gravel soils and hence extreme precaution should be take at the time of using it ,and it should be made sure that they are used only on soft soils to have the best results . you can also get the details of this test in the book SOILS MECHANICS AND FOUNDATIONS BY B.C PUNMIA |
