IS 1343 is the is code book for pres tressed concrete.
it is the guidelines by government of India for design of structures using pres tressed concrete

is IS1343 helpful in the design of pres tressed bridges ,does it give guidelines for all the structures build using prestresse concrete,what is its cost?

it is an general guidelines to be followed for condtructions using prestressed concrete,for different structures there are different code books, you can have a look for Indian IS CODES on the net.

yes there are code books for geotechnical engineering also,once have a look at Indian code books in civil engineering in the net for the entire list of code books

there are good books for each and very branch od civil engineering like plumbing,rcc,steel etc

generally questions in concrete are asked regarding mixed design,
they may also ask questions regarding aggregate testing and mix proportions,
and there is huge stress on IS456 they may ask any question any time from it

yes..there are some modification in the code and the new cod has been released in 2009,

hi..the static cone penetration test is an recognized and universally used to test to find out the bearing capacity of shallow foundations and also to find out the consistency of soils and the level of compaction of soils and road pavements in the field ,
this test is also useful because the static cone resistance values can be correlated with "N" values obtained from the standard cone penetration test and hence an equations can be developed which can make the use of both the values ,
the cone penetration test results are extremely reliable for the soft soils and give excellent results but they are not used for the gravel soils and hence do not give the proper results when they are used in the gravel soils and hence extreme precaution should be take at the time of using it ,and it should be made sure that they are used only on soft soils to have the best results .
