Re: Is GATE exam helpful for engineering students to get placements? GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This Entrance Exam is being conducted once in a year by IITs in order to give admission for the candidates for M.Tech course in various colleges across the India. The minimum academic qualification that is required for the candidates in order to be eligible to join this course is by completion of Graduation in Engineering. The candidates who are pursuing final year of Engineering course are also eligible to apply for this Exam. There is no upper age limit to apply for this Exam. There is no limit on the number of attempts for this Exam. Yes. Definitely, the GATE Exam will be helpful for the candidates in getting job. Now a days, many of the PSUs are hiring the candidates only on the basis of GATE score. They will put certain GATE score and if you are below that score, you can apply for the job opportunity. They will conduct an Interview and if you give good performance in the Interview, you will get the job. Such an importance is there for GATE Exam in these days. Have good preparation for this exam and crack it. Wish you all the best. |

If u already working sumwhere, den their is a chance of promotions as well BESides that if u do m.tech from good institutions u will get specifation in dat field also, so u get higher packages at d time of selection fr jobs. Re: Is GATE exam helpful for engineering students to get placements? dear friend, GATE exam is conducted mainly for admission in M.Tech in all over India engineering colleges like IIT,NIT etc. But GATE is also helpful for getting jobs in various research organizations like: BARC TIFR ISRO etc. Apart from research search, you can also apply for ONGC,NTPC,DRDO,IOCL etc on the basis of your GATE score. good luck. |

GATE exam will help you alot, even you dont want to do M.Tech the GATE scores will be helpful for some public sector and private sector companies. If you wish to do M.Tech then the M.Tech degree will be great useful for most of the jobs that you are looking for. Whatever you want to do its your wish but a good score in GATE proves you that how much knowledge that you have after under graduation. Good luck! |

GATE is certainly helpful to engineers to get a job for the engineers because GATE is an all india level entrance test and if you qualify GATE with good marks then certainly you will do your M.tech in a good college...and jobs will be plentily available...M.tech has a great scope in R & D line and technical eninners are in demand now a days.. GATE is a exam by which you can get stipend in higher study like master degree and others. but there are so many company which prefer GATE score for recruitment. the give jobs student who qualified GATE. but if you have good GATE score then just try to study m.tech. after m.tech it is more easy to get job than b.tech. |

Other type of job profile who do not want a person with technical skill, do not even consider this score. By the way, it is valuable to get good score during your engineering time, it is then give you an extra weightage than other candidates at the time of campus selection. After passing college, if you apply in your core company then also it is beneficial and would be regarded as an extra achievements. You can easily get a job in lecturership by producing GATE scholarship, and research line is always open for such type of scholars. |

Dear friend of course The GATE exam help the BTech student to get placement.Now a days various government sector consider the gate score card to recruit engineers e.g. ONGC, IOCL are recruiting engineers on the basis of GATE score card.If you get good rank in gate then you will be get job in those companies. Not only this, while doing preparation for GATE , you will be become prepare for general competition( NTPC, IES etc) as well as for various college campusing. Also if you perform well in GATE exam then you will be get opportunity to get admission in IITS, NITs to do MTech. So prepare for GATE. Best of luck |

U can join Mtech after appearing in gate. after doing Mtech u will get a very good job, there are some company those are wants to see the score card of GATE. if u did well in GATE then u can get placement in those company. all the best. |
