For the main exam the students gets a chance to choose two optional subjects as per their taste and preferences from the list mentioned below. Please check the list properly.  So you see there is no subject called english in this list. Therefore you have to choose something else which you know you can handle properly. It is always advisable to go for the subjects which are scoring and requires you to give less attention to it. So choose wisely. All the best

Selection process could be in three ways Preliminary Exam Main exam Interview there is two optional Subjects for IAS exam. OPTIONAL SUBJECTS FOR IAS EXAM: Economics Electrical Engineering Geography History law Management Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Medical Science Philosophy Physics Political Science and International Relations Psychology Public Adminstration Sociology Statistics Zoology Agriculture Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences Anthropology Botany Chemistry Civil Engineering Commerce and Accountings for more details visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.in all the best. |
