Minimum educational qualification required for IPS Exam is Bachelor degree .There is not require any kind of percentage marks in graduation degree . Final year of graduation degree candidate are also applicable for IPS Exam.You are from final semester so you are applicable for IPS exam . Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old .Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule . Your age now 27 years old so you are applicable for IPS exam. The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.Also you must be citizen of India. Selection process of IPS Exam are - Preliminary Exam ,Mains Exam ,Physical and Medical Test .After completion of above round they should conduct Interview round . Civil Service exam date already announced by UPSC ,So if you want to apply this exam , you can apply here before last date of submission . Yes you can apply fore I.P.S at that age of 27 year. I.P.S exam exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year. Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream fron recginiced university. Re: Can a 27 year old appear for IPS entrance exam? for general candidate the maximum age limit to appear in IPS examination is 30 years and for SC/ST/PH candidate maximum age limit to appear in IPS examination is 35years. so according to your age you are eligible for IPS examination. as you are interested for IPS then i will suggest you to appear in the IPS examination. but the competition is very tough in IPS examination as so many students are trying for this. so study more carefully according to the syllabus of IPS. improve your general knowledge, try to go through regularly newspaper. but if you think after your engineering you will do something different like job in company or further study then also you may go according to your interest. best wishes. |

(b) The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable: (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. (iii) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989. If your a candidate from GEN category then you can go through the exam 4 times(attempts) and your eligible for the exam till you attain the age of 30 years. If your a candidate from SC/OBC/ST categories then you can go through the exam 7 times(attempts) and your eligible for the exam till you attain the age of 33 years if your from OBC,35 years if your from SC/ST category .
