The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) exams conduct a preliminary examination, main exam and a personal interview.

The preliminary examination called CSAT (Civil services aptitude test) consists of two papers ( paper I and paper II).

Paper I: 200 marks: duration 2 hours:
This paper will cover subjects and topics like:
current national and international events,
economic and social deveopment,
general science,
general issues on environment and ecology,
Indian politics and governance.

People II: 200 marks: duration 2 hours:
This paper will cover topics like:
comprehension,
personal skills,
logical reasoning,
decision-making and problem-solving,
data interpretation,
English-language skills.
This paper with consist of multiple-choice objective type questions.

After this, the main exam will have subject papers win which you will have to choose two subjects from:
psychology
mathematics.
economics.
hindi,
marathi,
history,
geography,
statistics,
social sciences,
physics,
chemistry, etc.

After this, a personal interview will be conducted.
This is the pattern for UPSC exams for IAS.

Re: Exam pattern of IAS exam? Procedure to get the application form? Eligibility Criteria of IAS exam?

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.
You have to write Civil Services Exam for becoming a IAS . THe written test is conducted in two phases-prelims and mains which is followed by interviews and GDs.
I would suggest you choose your subjects and start preparing. coaching classes will be really helpful.
I am attaching a pdf file which will be useful for you knowing the exam pattern and eligibility criteria.
Also it provides the information regarding the procedure of getting and filling the exam.

Re: Exam pattern of IAS exam? Procedure to get the application form? Eligibility Criteria of IAS exam?

The eligibility criteria for CSAT is that you need to complete your under graduation course and your age group must be between 21-30 years.Age relaxation up to 3 to 5 years are provided for the reserved category candidates.Candidates pursuing the under graduation course who are in their last semester can even apply for the CSAT examination.

The application forms will be available at the head/central post office of your city. The test is basically held in two stages i.e preliminary test and mains.

The preliminary stage consists of two papers,200 marks and 2 hours for each exam.
The first paper basically consists of History of India,Current events,Indian and World geography,Economic and Social development and general science.
The second paper basically consists of English part i.e Decision making and problem solving, mental ability and basic numeracy.

If you get selected in the prelims then you need to go through the mains where you have to choose the field of your interest like IAS,IPS,IFS..etc

You can get the notification and other such details in the following website of the UPSC
