The information below will further help you to clear all your doubts. CDS stands for Combined Defense Service. Whenever there is a vacancy in any one of the following academy:- Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy an examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to fill up those void. Eligibility Criteria:- Educational Qualfiication:- For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy: You need to possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. For Indian Naval Academy: You need to have a degree in engineering from a recognized university. For Air Force Academy: You need to have a degree with physics and mathematics at 10+2 level or you can do engineering. The latter should be a four years course. Please Note:- Final year students who are yet to sit for the final qualifying exam or awaiting the result of the exam can also apply. Selection Procedure:- The selection procedure consists of the following stages:- 1. Written Exam 2. Interview/ Intelligence Test/ Personality Test 3. Document Verification 4. Medical Examination For IMA, NA & AFA there will be three paper and for each paper 100 marks have been allotted. From each section 120 questions will be asked and time limit for each paper is two hours. Questions will be asked from the following sections: English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. For OTA there will be two papers for each paper 100 marks have been allotted. From each section 120 questions will be asked and time limit for each paper is two hours. Questions will be asked from the following sections: English and General Knowledge. In the interview session there will be host of activities waiting for the candidates. They will be made to take part in various iscussion, outdoor group tasks, group planning and so on. In addition to that there will be verification of documents of the candidates. HELLO SIR -*-*-*-*-**-* CDS(Combined Defence Service) examination UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) conducts this exam twice in a year. you are eligible for Indian Navy after completion of your graduation. Eligibity criteria:- There is no percentage restrictions to appear this exam. Male and Female candidates are eligible. Final year graduation candidates are also eligible. You must be an indian origin. The candidate should be complete graduation from any recognised university. You must be physically fit. Age criteria:- The age limits for Indian Naval academy 19 to 22 years, For Airforce academy 19 to 23 years, For Military academy 19 to 24 years, For Officers Training academy 19 to 25 years.  Sorry to say but you are not eligible to join Indian Navy after Completing your B.Com with 58% marks. Indian Navy is one of the wings of Indian Defense. Those candidates who want to join Indian Defense after completing their graduation can do this through the CDS Exam. CDS Stands for Combined Defense Services Examination. This Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice in a year as CDS-I & CDS-II in the months of February and December respectively. The Eligibility Criteria Required for CDS Examination are : * You must have completed your graduation from any recognized college/university. * There is no any percentage bar required in graduation for this examination. * The candidate must have passed graduation with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their key subjects of study in graduation. * Students in Final Year Graduation are also eligible for CDS-I. * You must be an Indian Citizen. Age Limitations : * For IMA : 19-24 years. * For OTA : 19-25 years. * For Air Force : 19-23 years. * For Naval Academy : 19-22 years. Physical Eligibility :  From the above mentioned , you can see that you can join Indian Navy if you have PCM as your key subjects of study in Graduation.  Yes definitely, you are eligible to join Navy after doing B.Com with 58%. This examination is conducted through CDS(Combined Defence Services) examination, which is conducted by UPSC twice every year. This examination is taken by three processes are mentioned as below:- * Written examination. * Medical examination. * Personal interview. The eligibility criteria required for this examination are prescribed as below:- * Either graduate or a final year student of graduation im any stream with 50% marks from any recognised board. 45% marks for SC/ST. * Age limit- 19-22 yrs. * Physically and mentally fit. * Both male and female contendors are elibile for this examination. * Nationality- Indian. Yeah you are eligible for Indian Navy after completion of your graduation. This is done with the CDS(Combined Defence Service) examination, UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) conducts this exam twice in a year. Eligibility To Join Indian Navy After graduation..candidates can join the Indian Armed Forces through the CDS (Combined Defense Services) which is conducted by UPSC every year in the months of February and September.. Hello Dear, You can join Indian navy after graduation to clearing the CDS exam but as being a B.com graduate you are eligible for CDS exam only maths stream candidate are eligible for CDS navel exam. You can apply for OTA Officer Training Academy which is also a part of CDS but not In Naval department Eligibility Criteria For CDS is candidate should be completed graduation with subject MATHS and PHYSICS, candidate who are appearing final year exam are also eligible Age Limit candidate should be 19 to 25 years Notification date 25-05-2013 Last date of form 24-06-2013 Date of examination 08-09-2013 |

Re: Am I eligible to join Navy after doing B.Com with 58%? Indian Navy can be joined after Graduation through CDS(Combined Defence Service) entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every year. The candidate aspiring for Indian Naval Academy of CDS, must be an Indian unmarried male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject of studies from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 22 years with good Physical and Mental health. So B.Com. candidate will not be eligible for Indian Navy but he can apply for Indian Army and Indian Officer's Training Academy of CDS. For more information you may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |
