I did B.com with 58%, am i able to join navy

Indian Navy can be joined after Graduation through CDS(Combined Defence Service) entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every year.

The candidate aspiring for Indian Naval Academy of CDS, must be an Indian unmarried male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject of studies from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 22 years with good Physical and Mental health.

So B.Com. candidate will not be eligible for Indian Navy but he can apply for Indian Army and Indian Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

Hello Dear,

You can join Indian navy after graduation to clearing the CDS exam but as being a B.com graduate you are eligible for CDS exam only maths stream candidate are eligible for CDS navel exam.
You can apply for OTA Officer Training Academy which is also a part of CDS but not In Naval department
Eligibility Criteria For CDS is

candidate should be completed graduation with subject MATHS and PHYSICS, candidate who are appearing final year exam are also eligible
Age Limit
candidate should be 19 to 25 years

Eligibility To Join Indian Navy

After graduation..candidates can join the Indian Armed Forces through the CDS (Combined Defense Services) which is conducted by UPSC every year in the months of February and September..

Candidates can appear for the CDS Exam only if :-

>> The candidate has completed graduation(with Physics and Maths for Air Force and Navy) from a recognized institute (no percentage restriction)

>> Candidate must be within the following age limits :-

> Indian Navy :- 19-22 years
> Indian Air Force :- 19-23 years
> Indian Military Academy :- 19-24 years
> Officer's Training Academy :- 19-25 years

I am really sorry but B.Com, students are not eligible for applying for the Indian Navy..

However, you can apply for the other wings other than Air Force..

Unfortunately you are not eligible to join Navy because Air Force and Navy is only for candidates with science background. With this degree you can only apply for Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Service. Whenever there is a vacancy in any one of the following academy:- Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy an examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to fill up those void.

Eligibility Criteria:-

Educational Qualfiication:-

For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy: You need to possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

For Indian Naval Academy: You need to have a degree in engineering from a recognized university.

For Air Force Academy: You need to have a degree with physics and mathematics at 10+2 level or you can do engineering. The latter should be a four years course.

Please Note:- Final year students who are yet to sit for the final qualifying exam or awaiting the result of the exam can also apply.

Selection Procedure:-

The selection procedure consists of the following stages:-

1. Written Exam
2. Interview/ Intelligence Test/ Personality Test
3. Document Verification
4. Medical Examination

For IMA, NA & AFA there will be three paper and for each paper 100 marks have been allotted. From each section 120 questions will be asked and time limit for each paper is two hours. Questions will be asked from the following sections: English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.

For OTA there will be two papers for each paper 100 marks have been allotted. From each section 120 questions will be asked and time limit for each paper is two hours. Questions will be asked from the following sections: English and General Knowledge.

In the interview session there will be host of activities waiting for the candidates. They will be made to take part in various iscussion, outdoor group tasks, group planning and so on. In addition to that there will be verification of documents of the candidates. Lastly, there is a physical standard set by UPSC. You need to meet that as well. This is an important criteria no doubt.
