Surely, Arts students are eligible for IAS entrance examination,for your information not only Arts student according to UPSC any Graduate can write IAS entrance exam.Follow UPSC conducted IAS eligibility:- 1.Any graduate from the recognized University having minimum pass marks can write IAS entrance examination. 2.Age: General:21-32 years,relaxations for S/C S/T and obc 5,3 years respectively. 3.Must be the citizen of India. 4.Attempts: General: 6 attempts, OBC: 8 attempts, S/C S/T no limit. To clear IAS a candidate to clear:- a.Preliminary exam. b.IAS mains exam. c.Interview. |

Yes candidates are eligible to make entry into IAS soon after the completion of their Graduation in Arts stream. So, you can start preparation for IAS Exam. To be placed in IAS or any other civil service, one should have to crack the following selection procedure Civil Services Aptitude Test Civil Services Main Exam Interview CSAT is the common entrance exam to be placed in any of the civil service like IAS IPS IRS IFS etc. Here is the eligibility criteria that is required for you to apply for CSAT Exam. You should have completed your Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. Candidates who have appeared for final year exams of Graduation and waiting for the results can also apply for this Exam. The required age will be 21-30 years for the candidates of General category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category. So, I suggest you to successfully Graduation first and prepare for Civil Services Exam also in parallel. Better to opt for any of the following optional subjects that will be useful for you. To become IAS Officer you have to clear CSE i.e. Civil Services Exam. CSE is conducted by UPSC every year for the post like IAS, IPS, IFS etc. Civil Services Exam has three stages: >>Preliminary Exam It consists of 2 papers of total weightage 200 marks. >>Main Exam After passing Preliminary exam the candidate are shortlisted for Main exam. Main exam consists of 9 paper of 2000 marks. >>Personal Interview The personality interview has weightage of 300 marks. Now the candidates are selected by rank in Merit List. >>The age of candidate must be from 21 to 30 years.There is a relaxation for OBS candidate is 21 to 33 years and for SC and ST candidate is from 21 to 35 years. Whatever may be the stream is..(B.A./B.COM/B.TECH/B.E./BCA./BBA.,, etc etc) As you are first year under-graduate student, so you can apply for this examination for next two years,. After the completion of your graduation, you can appear in the IAS exam. Minimum educational qualification for IAS examination is to be graduate with any of the stream. Absolutely tobbaco can affect your studies. Because to become an IAS you should have completed your graduation first in any stream from any recognized university....that is the only educational criteria....then take a look at the following things. 1. Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years. [33 years for Sc/ST] 2. You should have good knowledge in current affairs and social issues. The eligibility criteria for UPSC Civil Services Exam is 1. Graduation in any discipline 2.
