yes a commerce gradute candidate is eligible for ias exam if his age is between 21 to 30 years.

A arts gradute student is very much eligible for giving the ias exam. Because the education qualification required for ias is graduation pass from any stream from a recognizeduniversity.

Yes, arts stream students can apply for IAS Officer.
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.

To become IAS Officer you have to clear CSE i.e. Civil Services Exam. CSE is conducted by UPSC every year for the post like IAS, IPS, IFS etc.

Civil Services Exam has three stages:

>>Preliminary Exam

It consists of 2 papers of total weightage 200 marks.

>>Main Exam

After passing Preliminary exam the candidate are shortlisted for Main exam.
Main exam consists of 9 paper of 2000 marks.

>>Personal Interview

The personality interview has weightage of 300 marks.

Now the candidates are selected by rank in Merit List.

Just after passing class 12th, you cannot apply for the UPSC Civil servicres Exams.

Minimum eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil services exams is:

Graduation pass in any Stream

Candidates belonging to OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations
