Best book to refer to would be WREN AND MARTIN grammar book. improve you English usage and correct sentences. you should try to practice as many mocks as you can and then analyze those mocks to find weak areas and lay stress upon them. you can also read magzines like CSR which have lots of previous papers and mocks. Generally all the competitive exams including Bank PO exam requires basic knowledge in English. It is always advised that you should concentrate on the overall growth of your knowledge in English not only to target any particular exam for long term benefit. If you are one of those students who have learnt English as a second language and find it to be hard to master, I am assuring you that you can definately master English following few simple steps. The most important prerequisite is that you must have DETERMINATION and proper ATTITUDE. It is a fact that many students who failed to be good at English in school level remains poor at it forever. The only reason for this is lack of interest to devoute themselves to learn a foreign language as much as it needed. Remember if you can get right in this, half of the work is done. Now let me give you some tips on how to improve English. The only key in this regard is to give sufficient time to english. Refer to good grammer books. Learn all the theory properly. Remember synonym & antonyms. Practice at least 20 grammer questions daily. Notice what mistakes you are making. Commit yourself not to make same mistakes once again. Read newspaper daily. This will boost your vocabulary as well as aid your comprehension skills. Talking of improving writing skills you should first be a reader of quality books in English. Go through different essay books in various topics. Try to notice how a particular word is being used in different context. Try to notice how words in being used to make the language more sophisticated. Now when you are writing on same so similar kind of topics try to use that words and same style of language. When you advanced your understanding how to make language sophisticated you can use your creativity to create your own style of writing. However, when you are writing official/business letters, always stick to using professional language. Generally questions asked in bank exam is not very difficult. Knowledge of 10th standard will be enough. You can buy Wren & Martin for preparation of grammer. You can solve questions papers of previous year. This will give you better understanding of pattern and level of questions in the exam. |
