It is the Directorate of State Education who is given the power to decide the minimum criteria to appear or get admission in the school. But, the common age limit trend to get admission is about 6 years for 1st std. So, she is eligible to get admission. |

To get admission for pursuing 2nd standard in CBSE Board school, the candidate should have passed 1st standard from a Government recognised board and should be at least 6 years 6 months old. As per the information you have mentioned in your query, your daughter is pursuing first standard at present being a 6 years old candidate, so, she is eligible to get admission in second standard next year at the age of more than 6 years 6 months in CBSE Board school. |

According to CBSE norms, there are certain guidelines regarding age that must be followed by school for admitting students for 2nd standard. According to guidelines, Minimum age for 2nd standard is 6 years and maximum age is 8 years. |

Candidates who have passed 1st standard from a recognised board are eligible to apply for admission to 2nd standard. Since, your daughter is born in the year 2011, she is eligible to get admission in 2nd standard in CBSE Board school. |

What is the age criteria followed to get admission for CBSE board 2nd standard? My daughter's date of birth is 23 November 2011. She is studying in 1st class. I want admission in 2nd class in CBSE granted school in the year academic 2018-2019. Can she get admission in the 2nd class according to CBSE norms or again repeat the 1st class. |
