It provides a better opportunity for recruitment in defence service after bachelor degree. The age limit varies with different wing. The common eligibility is 19-25 years. CDS refers to Combined Defense Services and it has four wings which includes Naval Academy (NA), Air force Academy (AFA), Indian Military Academy (IMA), and Officer's Training Academy (OTA) for joining which you need to qualify the CDS entrance examination held twice every year by UPSC. For appearing in the same examination, the minimum age limit is 19 years in case of all wings except AFA for which the minimum age required is 20 years while the upper age limit is 24 years in case of NA, AFA, and IMA wings and 25 years in the case of OTA. You should have passed Bachelor's degree course in any discipline from a recognised university to be eligible to apply for CDS examination. You should be an unmarried male candidate and you should be physically as well as mentally healthy to be eligible to apply for CDS examination. |

The minimum age limit is 19-24 years and required educational qualification to appear in examination is bachelor degree or pursuing in final year. Eligibility to appear in CDS examination: Candidate must be unmarried and must either be a citizen of India, a subject of Bhutan, subject of Nepal or a Tibetan Refugee. For Indian Military Academy, officers training academy, candidate must have a degree. For Indian Naval Academy, Degree from a recognised university or equivalent. For Air Force Academy, Degree of a recognised University with Physics and Mathematics at 10 + 2 Level or bachelor of engineering. Minimum age is 19 years and maximum should not exceed 25 years. |

The minimum required educational qualification is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree or in the final year of course. The minimum age limit is 19 years. Re: What is the minimum age requirement for applying in CDS? The full form of CDS is Combined Defence Services. Union Public Service Commission conducts this exam two times every year. The eligibility criteria for exam: 1. You must be a graduate from a recognized university to apply for OTA and IMA. 2. Bachelor's degree in science or engineering is necessary to apply for Air force or Naval academy. 3. The minimum age limit is 20 years. The upper age limit for OTA is 25 years and that for others is 24 years. 4. Both unmarried male and female candidates can apply. |
