Yes, you can pursue Diploma in Engineering course even having completed your Class 12th in Commerce but in that case you will gave to go for Diploma in Engineering course of 3 years not that of 2 years which is available for those who have completed their Class 12th in Science stream. |

Admission to the diploma courses in engineering branch is done on the basis of class 10th as the candidate has to qualify the polytechnic entrance test of that state where they want to seek admission and if they pass the test, they will get the stream of their choice as per their rank and the minimum education qualification required to pass the polytechnic entrance test is 10th. So, you are eligible on the basis of your class 10th to pursue polytechnic course. |

Re: Is it possible to change from 12th Commerce to Diploma engineering? yes you can apply on the basis of your 10th class . as the eligibility of polytech diploma in engineering is 10th or lateral entry for ITI or 12th with PCM holder , so if anyone have done 12 with commerce can do diploma on the basis of his 10th class then your diploma will be of 3 years. |

Re: Is it possible to change from 12th Commerce to Diploma engineering? Yes, you can pursue diploma in engineering but on the basis of your 10th qualification and it will be of three year duration. Not eligible to get admission in two year lateral entry diploma course for which candidates with 12th in science stream are eligible. |

Re: Is it possible to change from 12th Commerce to Diploma engineering? The common eligibilty to pursue diploma in engineering course is that candidate must have passed 10th from a recognised board. Candidates with science stream in std 12th are eligible for admission in diploma course through lateral entry. For more information about the admission procedure visit the official website. But you are not eligible for lateral entry after commerce stream in std 12th. |

If your are interested in pursuing Diploma in Engineering degree now after completing your Class 12th in Commerce stream then I would like to let you know that you can still go for full- time 3 year Diploma in Engineering degree course now but not for 2 year Diploma in Engineering degree course through lateral entry as for lateral entry to diploma in engineering course you are required to have completed your Class 12th with Physics and Mathematics as main subjects. |

Those candidates who have passed matriculation/10th with Mathematics, Physical Science & English from Central or State Board recognized by Govt are eligible for Diploma entrance exam. |
