Respected Sir, I would like to know about the procedure for getting admission in University of Calcutta for studying PhD program in the field of Genetics. Can you please help me to know about the procedure of admission immediately? Waiting for your response. Thank you!

Admission will be based on the Research Entrance Test and Interview conducted by CU.

NET/JRF/SET qualified candidates will be exempted from the written examination but have to be present in interview and document verification.

University will upload merit list on the basis of entrance exam.

Examination will be MCQ based of maximum 50 marks
Qualified candidates will be invited for interview of 50 marks.

Research proposal and short essay will be for 30 marks and 20 marks respectively (for Ph.D)

Final merit list will be based on the written entrance examination, interview, research proposal and short essay.

Document verfication and payment of programme fee will confirm admission.

The university offers PhD at research level with various specialisation.
The basic eligibility is PG degree from a recognised university and selection is based on an entrance exam conducted by university.

Admission is done on the basis of score in written test followed by Research Proposal and an interview.
CSIR/UGC/NET/SET/SLET/GATE are exempted from written exam.
