Commerce students can do PhD in mathematics?
Being a commerce student I had commerce with mathematics and now I have planned to do PhD in Mathematics.... Is it possible??

No. A Commerce student is not eligible to do Ph.D. in mathematics.

Commerce students can do Ph.D. in mathematics?
Ph.D. Mathematics is a Doctorate of Mathematics course. It is the study of structure, space, quantity, and change. It seeks out patterns and formulates new conjectures. The duration of the program is a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5-6 years. The minimum qualifications and other eligibility criteria for admission are M.Sc. Degree in Mathematical or Physical Sciences. |

Yes, anyone who has completed a post graduation course with a minimum of 55% marks from any university are eligible to pursue PhD in Mathematics.
There are no age restrictions to pursue this course in India. Admission to this course is direct as well as entrance test based depending on the university. |

For getting admission to a PhD programme, candidate must have completed master's degree in relevant subject with atleast 55% marks.
Admission will be possible only if you study maths in your post graduation. You may find difficult to get admission being a commerce student as they don't allow commerce candidates to go for masters in maths . So you must keep in mind this thing before taking admission . |

No, Commerce candidates are not eligible for PhD in Mathematics.
Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognised university are eligible for PhD entrance exam. General OBC candidates should hold 55% above marks in master degree.For SC/ ST candidate it is 50% and above in master Degree. Your age should be below 28 years for JRF post. |

Yes definitely, Commerce students can do PhD in mathematics. The minimum Eligibility required is M.Sc. Degree in Mathematical or Physical Sciences/ B. Tech Candidates from any discipline with a minimum of 55% score. Top Ph.D. Mathematics Entrance Exams: NBHM Entrance Exam, CSIR UGC NET, UGC NET, and other relevant entrance exams.

No, commerce students can't do it . B.Com degree holder candidates are not eligible for Ph. D in Mathematics. Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for Ph.D.
