Eligibility:-
The candidates need to finish their post-graduation in Philosophy. Some colleges also accept candidates who have completed their master degree in any other discipline. The students must also clear the cut-off of certain entrance tests like the National Entrance Test (NET). Various other entrance tests are conducted from time to time. The candidates must have at least 50% marks in their graduation and post-graduation. The minimum marks requirement may differ for the SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates. |

Those who have passed masters degree is required to gain admission to a doctoral programme. In some subjects doing masters in philosophy is prerequisite to start PhD
For some prestigious college, they are required to qualify NET for lecturership conducted by University Grants Commission. Admission is offered based on an interview. It may be supplemented by a written test if necessary. |

Eligibility to study PhD (Anthropology) in University of Bangalore:-
Candidates should have passed a master degree so required to gain admission to doctoral program. In some subjects doing a MPhil is a prerequisite to start PhD. In cases where the admission at MPhil has been conducted through an entrance examination and course has been prescribed at the MPhil level such as a candidate when admitted to PhD program should not be required to undertake entrance examination for Course work at it shall be considered to have compiled with the UGC. In other cases where a candidate has done MPhil from one university and move to another University for PhD ,the new university may give credit and exempt for the course work done in previous University. However such a candidate will have to appear in entrance test as applicable to a fresh candidate directly joining PhD.This procedure will apply in case of those who have also obtained PhD degree from abroad. For some prestigious universities a candidate is required to qualify the all level India examinations such as (National eligibility test ) for lectureship conducted by University Grants Commission. Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying degree examination eligibility to apply.However they must submit attested copies of qualifying degree certificates / final transcripts. Admission is often based on an interview held usually a month before the commencement of the semester for which admission is sought.The interview may be supplemented by written test is necessary. |

1. You must have completed post - graduation from any recognized institute. 2. You must have a minimum of 70% marks in graduation as well as in post graduation. 3. You should have cleared the entrance test of Bangalore University to get admission. |

Eligibility to study Ph.D. (Anthropology) at the University of Bangalore?
The candidate should have completed their master's in Philosophy from any recognized university. The candidate should have cleared cut -off of the entrance exam National Entrance Test(NET) to get admission to the University of Bangalore. The candidate should be an Indian citizen. The candidate of any age can pursue this course there is no age restriction in India to pursue this course. |
