Dear friends, please help me to know about the eligibility criteria through which I can study PhD in History in Gauhati University? I am interested to do PhD in this stream in this university. Please help me to know about this asap. Thank you!

Doctor of Philosophy in History is a Doctorate level History course. The required eligibility to study Ph.D. (History) in Gauhati University is the candidate should have passed master degree in the respective field from a recognized university. The minimum percentage required in the master degree is 55% for open and 50% for SC/ST category candidates. The selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of an entrance which is conducted by the university.

To get admission in Ph.D course in History from Gauhati University, you must have a valid UGC NET JRF score card.

If you have completed masters degree in History with above 55% marks from a recognized University, then you are eligible for Ph.D course from Gauhati University.

There are no age criteria.
