You can appear for exams like NET/SET/GATE/JRF, if you are interested in Ph.D admission at any UGC recognised university. Those who have any of the above scores, are usually exempted from entrance exam.

Those who don't have any of the above scores or a M.Phil degree, have to appear for university entrance exam to get shortlisted for interview stage.
