Most of the Universities conduct their own entrance examination for Ph.D admission and if you have a Master's Degree in required discipline with 55% marks, then surely you will be eligible for it. There is relaxation of 5% marks for candidates who belong to reserved category.

There are certain conditions for entrance exam and candidates with following qualifications are exempted from entrance exam and will be entitled for direct admission in Ph.D program.

1. Those with a NET/SET/GATE score.

2. Those with M.Phil qualification in the relevant discipline.

3. Those who have professional experience of at least 5 years in relevant discipline.

4. Those who are having fellowships are also exempted from Ph.D entrance exam.

You have a M.Phil qualification and you can definitely apply for direct admission in Ph.D, when the notification is released by the University.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
