Procedure to be followed for doing Ph.D in Microbiology:
Yes, You need to qualify NET (National Eligibility Test) Examination conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) or CSIR Entrance Exam or Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering (GATE) to be eligible for doing this course. Or sometimes you will have to qualify the Ph.D Entrance Test conducted by that particular college/ university to do Doctoral Program. Colleges offer Ph.D in Microbiology are, >> University of Delhi http://www.du.ac.in/du/ >> Bharati Vidyapeeth University http://www.bharatividyapeeth.edu/default.htm >> Central Drug Research Institute http://www.cdriindia.org/home.asp >> Gulbarga University http://gug.ac.in/ >> Jain University http://www.jainuniversity.ac.in/ >> Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Delhi http://www.iari.res.in/ >> Osmania University http://www.osmania.ac.in/ |

Re: What is the procedure followed for doing Ph.D in microbiology?
For Ph.D admission you need to appear for entrance exam and interview conducted by the concerned university. You need to have post graduate degree in microbiology with 55% marks to become eligible for admission.
NET is not required but it will create chance for admission in top universities. Without NET you can apply for admission in low ranked universities. |

Re: What is the procedure followed for doing Ph.D in microbiology?
To do Ph.D in Microbiology after the completion of M.Sc, you should first need to appear in the UGC NET examination.
The eligibility criteria required to appear in the UGC NET examination is that a candidate must have completed Master's Degree course from a recognized University with 55% of marks. After qualifying in the UGC NET examination, you can take admission to study Ph.D in a respective University. There is no age criteria for NET examination. |
