Can I apply for NET being a correspondence MBA postgraduate of SMU?
Hello Everyone,
Can I apply for NET? I have done MBA from SMU in correspondence mode. So, I can apply or not for NET? Kindly tell me immediately. |

SMU is Sikkim Manipal University. This university is approved by UGC and Distance Education Council, so you can apply for NET exam as it degree is valid for entrance exams.
NET is National Eligibility Test. UGC conducts this exam twice every year in June and December for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship. For this exam, you must have at least 55% marks in master's degree. There is no upper age limit for Lectureship but upper age limit for JRF is 28 years. Important dates for December, 2015 NET exam is already over, you must wait for June 2016 exam. For any more other details, you can also check it at official website of UGC http://www.ugc.ac.in |

NET stands for National Eligibility Test and it is entrance examination conducted by UGC for recruitment of candidate as Associate Professor or as Junior Research Fellowship.
Yes, you are eligible to appear for NET examination. The eligibility to appear in NET entrance examination is :- Candidate must have secured 55% in master's degree from a recognised university either regular or correspondence course. Candidate age must be between 19-28 years for JRF and no age limit for Associate Professor relaxation for OBC and SC/ST candidate. So, you can appear for entrance examination. Yes, you are eligible to appear for NET entrance examination. NET entrance examination is conducted by UGC twice every year.
The required eligibility to appear for entrance examination is candidate must have passed master's degree from a recognised university with at least 55% aggregate and age must be between 19-28 years. There is no age limit to appear in examination for Lecturer post. Since, SMU is a recognised university you can appear for entrance examination.
