CAT refers to Common Admission Test and the minimum education required for appearing in the same examination is a graduation degree in any discipline with at least 50% in aggregate (or 45% marks in aggregate in case of SC/ST and PH category candidates) from a recognized university.

So, if you have managed to completed your Degree in Civil Engineering with the minimum marks required in the qualifying degree as mentioned above, you are certainly eligible for appearing in CAT as degree completed from AMIE are valid degrees for higher education.

For complete details and updates regarding CAT, you can refer to the link www.iimcat.ac.in.

To be eligible for CAT (Common Admission Test), which is the most popular MBA entrance exam in India, a candidate must have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for reserved categories) from a recognized university or institute. Final year students can also apply provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria by the time of admission.

Apart from CAT, there are several other MBA entrance exams in India, such as XAT, MAT, SNAP, NMAT, etc. Each of these exams has its own eligibility criteria, which can vary slightly. However, in general, most MBA entrance exams have the following eligibility criteria:

Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for reserved categories)
Final year students can also apply provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria by the time of admission
There is no age limit for most MBA entrance exams.

The CAT Eligibility states that the candidates must hold 3 years of bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university (for IIM CAT Exam Eligibility criteria for general category candidates is 50% marks in graduation; 45% for reserved category). Thereby, to appear in CAT, graduation is a must, however, final-year students can also apply for this exam, as per official CAT Exam Eligibility. Due to the last 2 years of the pandemic, the exam authority has made some alterations to CAT Eligibility criteria. It is very important for each and every candidate to go through the CAT Exam Eligibility 2023 to avoid failing last minutes cancellation of the candidature
