after completing b.e. in civil engineering....is it compulsary to appear for GATE or to crack GATE for doing ME civil (any specilisation )??
or just appearing for gate is essential???

what is differnce between completing ME from india and foreign??

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and Seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

To be eligible to pursue M.Tech course, you need to appear for GATE examination and it is not mandatory to crack GATE examination for getting admission in M.Tech course. Even, if you qualify GATE examination, you can get admission in M.Tech course in a particular college. But, if you crack GATE examination, you can get admission in M.Tech course in top institutes like IIT's or any other reputed colleges. If you qualify GATE examination only with qualifying marks, then, you can get admission in M.Tech course in non-reputed colleges. There is no much difference between Indian and Foreign studies and the main difference in India we can obtain theoretical knowledge by study and by pursuing studies in foreign countries, you can obtain both theoretical and practical knowledge. For pursuing your higher studies in Abroad, you need to appear for GRE and IELTS admission for getting admission in foreign universities.
