Re: I have completed my MA English. Now what next?
Based on your situation, there are several career options you can consider:
Teaching: With your BA and MA in English, you can continue to pursue a career in teaching. If you want to teach at the college level, a PhD in English may be helpful, but it's not necessary to start your career. You can also consider teaching in international schools, which can provide opportunities to travel and work in different countries. Content writing and editing: As someone with a strong background in English, you could consider a career in content writing and editing. Many companies hire content writers and editors to create and revise written content for websites, blogs, and other media. Public relations and communications: With your strong communication skills, you may want to consider a career in public relations or communications. These fields involve crafting and executing messaging and strategies to promote brands, organizations, or individuals. Human resources: Human resources (HR) is another field that could be a good fit for someone with strong communication skills. HR professionals work in a variety of settings, including corporations and non-profits, to manage employee relations, training, and development. Digital marketing: If you enjoy working with technology, you may want to consider a career in digital marketing. This field involves promoting products or services through online channels, such as social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization. Ultimately, the decision of which career path to pursue is up to you. Consider your interests, skills, and the job market in the locations where you may live with your husband. Research potential careers to learn more about the qualifications and job duties, and speak with professionals in those fields to get a better understanding of what the work is really like. |

Re: I have completed my MA English. Now what next?
You've also completed a Master's degree and have considered pursuing a PhD, but are concerned about the time commitment and your ability to switch careers easily. Additionally, you're interested in pursuing an MBA but are unsure about your math skills.
Here are a few suggestions for your further career: • Explore opportunities in writing and communications: Your strong background in English language and literature could make you a strong candidate for careers in writing and communications. This could involve working as a copywriter, content creator, or communications specialist for a variety of organizations. • Consider pursuing an MBA with a focus on non-quantitative fields: While an MBA typically involves a strong focus on math and quantitative analysis, there are many programs that offer specializations in non-quantitative fields such as marketing, management, or human resources. These programs may be more suited to your strengths and interests. • Consider pursuing a teaching or coaching role in higher education: With your advanced degrees in education, you may be qualified to teach at the college or university level. Additionally, you could consider pursuing a coaching or mentorship role for aspiring teachers or education professionals. • Public relations: With your background in teaching and English language education, you may be well-suited to a career in public relations. Public relations professionals are responsible for creating and distributing information about their organization to the public, often through press releases, media interviews, and other forms of communication. They may also work to build relationships with journalists, influencers, and other stakeholders to ensure positive coverage of their organization. • Social media management, on the other hand, involves developing and implementing social media strategies to promote an organization's brand, products, or services. Social media managers are responsible for creating content, managing social media accounts, and analyzing metrics to track the success of their campaigns. |
