Yes, you can clear CAT exam without having any coaching center. But you should prepare well on last 20 years question papers. Also you can choose some good books for CAT exam. I have listed some books name which are good for CAT exam.

Coaching is not compulsory for CAT or for any other Exams.
It entirely depends on your dedication level.
What coaching does is that it provides you with study material,real time tests under pressure and,most importantly,Coaching helps in preparation of GD or Group Discussion.
If you can practice well for Group Discussion among your friends etc, then apart from that, you will not miss coaching.
Study materials and practice papers can be obtained through various sources.Many online platforms provide tests and results online as mock tests.
Only GD and its practice needs good circle of candidates. If you can manage that,you don't need coaching , provided you are self motivated and dedicated.
