Alagappa University Distance Education-BCA Degree Exam- Microprocessor and Personal Computers Papers are designed to cover the vast field of the subject and to test the student’s knowledge and application skills through questions on relevant topics. The paper consists of long answer questions, from topics like short notes on the various types of microprocessors, explanation of the working of a microprocessor based on system block diagram, polling routines, the various groups of microprocessor registers, addressing modes of 8085, semiconductor memory family and its various component parts and so on. Diagram based questions are also common in this paper where students are expected to draw well-thought out and labeled diagrams of circuits and microprocessor workings. Other topics from which questions might be asked include flowcharts on number routes, parallel transmission, short notes on disk capacity, serial transmission, and description of PC hardware and so on.
