Biju Patnaik University of Technology-MCA 1st Sem-Numerical Methods Papers are aimed at testing students on the fundamentals of the subject of Numerical Methods. Questions can be asked from a range of topics like precision, Cramer’s Rule, accuracy of numbers, linear inequations, curve fitting and least square regression, Simpson’s rule, Trapezoidal rules, Runge-Kutta method and so on. The questions are objective and hence this section of the paper is quite high scoring. Other topics include differential equations and matrices, absolute error and relative error, real roots of equations and Newton-Raphson method for decimal places. The second part of the questions paper contains questions of higher marks and more challenging concepts from topics like Euler’s method, quadratic polynomials, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, differential equations derivatives from given set of data, and coefficients of characteristic polynomials. The questions are practice based and conceptual hence the student must prepare for them accordingly.
