There are five broad groups in the paper; the students must choose one question each from groups A, B and C, while from groups D and E the questions are compulsory. The maximum marks to be got in the paper in 70 and the time given are 3 hours. The questions are give an account of the interior structure of the earth, what are ocean currents and how a geography teacher would explain the ocean currents of the world on a map, notes on normal lapse rate and temperature inversion, significance of troposphere, coastal features of deposition, geographical location, name the pressure belts of the earth’s surface and discuss the prevailing planetary winds between them, give an account of equatorial forests, discuss any three major soil types of the world and their distribution, properties of cylindrical equal area projection, what is the significance of fieldwork in understanding the concepts of physical geography. Apart from descriptive questions, the paper also has analytical problems.
