It includes data information (digital system features), number systems (decimal, binary, octal, hexadecimal, interconversions), data representation, binary arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers. Codes (BCD, XS-3, Gray, hamming, alphanumeric codes -ASCII, EBCDIC, UNICODE), error detection and correction, Boolean algebra (basic gates, universal gates, identities, De Morgan laws, karnaugh maps, Quine Mc Clusky method), Combinatorial circuits (half and full adder, combinatorial circuit design, sequential circuit design (flip flops - RS, clocked RS, D, JK, JK Master Slave, Counters - Synchronous and Asynchronous), computers (organization, memory - RAM, ROM, PROM, EPROM, EEPROM, secondary and cache memory), operating systems (types, single and multi taksing, GUI, windows, LINUX).

Paper Pattern: Candidate will be given a question paper containing 7 questions out of which 1st question is compulsory. Among the rest, any 4 can be answered. Each of them carry 20 marks and all are subjective type. They may be subdivided.

Time allotted and Maximum Marks: Duration of exam is 3 hours and the maximum marks allotted are 100.
