Is it compulsory to study Hindi in ICSE Board?

Hello,
My daughter is studying in 4th standard in a WBBSE State Board school. She is a top student there, but now I have an idea to change her to ICSE Board school whether it is advisable. Whether Hindi is compulsory in ICSE Board?

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) took decision that a candidate can pass class X examination with only one language subject i.e., English.

However, the candidate need to appear for the second language paper even though they fail in it. But the candidate must need to pass English and other four mandatory subjects.

No, it is not compulsory to study Hindi in ICSE Board. Hindi is a optional subject.
Also, if any student fails in Hindi subject and passes all other subjects is allowed to move to next class.

Yes hindi is a compulsory subject in ICSE Board. ICSE stands for Indian Certificate Secondary Education. It is a delhi based board and in this board hindi is one of the compulsory subject. This board is good for intelligent students like your daughter. She will learn more there than that of WBBSE board school. Also the study pattern which is used by ISCE is much more better than WBBSE.

So it is better to get admitted your daughter in ISCE Board school.

No, Hindi is not compulsory in ICSE, she can opt for Bengali as her second language, there is no problem in it. And do not worry as your child is a brilliant, she will probably be ab;e to cope up with the new syllabus pattern very soon and would be able to score as she used to in her previous school and board.

Yes its an good option to move from state board to central board , ICSE board provides better study environment as compared to any state board there syllabus really helps in each national level entrance exam held after 8th, 10th or 12th class but i suggests you if you are planning to move then go for CBSE board because each and every national level entrance test in India follow CBSE syllabus like AIEEE and AIPMT both exams are also conducted by CBSE
When we talk about Hindi subject in ICSE board yes it is compulsory subject upto 10th class , you can leave the subject after passing 10th class but it is compulsory in all board of India upto 10th class

Yes, it is a good idea to change the board of your daughter. As ICSE board is better than any of the state board. ICSE board is a Delhi based board. The ICSE board syllabus included the syllabus at the national level whereas State board syllabus included the syllabus at the state level.
Yes, Hindi is compulsory upto class 10th in ICSE board or even any other board of India. After passing 10th, in Class 11th , Hindi will become the optional subject. Also, if any student fails in Hindi and passes all the other subjects then, he is allowed to move to other class.

Yes. But lot depends on the school. As per CISCE guidelines, English is compulsory and student can choose other language/s. But most of the schools for the sake of convenience, availability of teachers & enrollment of students for particular language thrust Hindi as second language by default & you have to choose between other Indian or Foreign language as 3rd language. Please check with the school.

As per the rules and according to the syllabus of ICSE board Hindi is compulsory upto class 10th.
A candidate have to study Hindi as the main subject upto class 10th in ICSE board.

In class 11th Hindi will become an optional subject. There will be another option against Hindi.
