IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to be an IAS officer one is required to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.

The basic qualifications required for appearing in the same examination are as below:-

* You must hold the citizenship of India.

* Your age must lie in between 21 years to 32 years. Upper age limit relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category as per the government norms.

* You must have completed your graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. One can appear in the same examination while pursuing final year of their graduation degree course.

So, being a student of Class 9th, you are first required to acquire the minimum educational requirement for appearing in the Civil Services examination and then qualify the same examination with top rank to become an IAS officer.

For complete details regarding the Civil Services examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.

To become an IAS officer you need to have the following qualifications.

1. Graduation in any discipline from a UGC-recognized University.
2. Age should be between 21 to 30 years (relaxation available for reserved category)
3. Clearing UPSC Civil Services examination with an excellent rank.

Hence, it all depends on your preparation and if you want to become an IAS officer, you must clear 3 stages of the Civil Services Exam (Prelims, Main, and Interview).
