my sister is reading in 8th class CBSE and at present her age is 12 years . please tell me when she will in 10th class,is there any problem relating her registration in CBSE.

The age for CBSE tenth board is 15 years. The appearing student has to be his or her 15 years when he or she is appearing in his or her Class 10 Board examination. Any student who has not attained an age of five years will not get admission in class I. You have to ensure that your ward is between 15-16 years of age at the time of writing the class 10 examination.

CBSE stands for central board of secondary education.

According to the norms of CBSE the minimum age requirement to be appear in 10 board examination is 14 years and 6 month.
Students below the age of 14.5 year are not eligible to give the examination, they will be denied.They will verify your age through affidavit given at the time of registration in 9th class.

So, the student having age below 14.5 years couldn't appear in exam, but there isn't any upper age limit to appear in 10th board exam.

My daughter date of birth is 06-07-2013, and Some school offer this Apr-2016 admission in Nursery CBSC, and some show us criteria of Nursery admission cut of date: 31-05-2016.
I have confusion what should i do?
I want to take admission next April-16 in nursery or wait for one year/

There might be some problems for your sister for giving the board exam because the minimum age required for giving the board exam of class 10 is 15 years. And as you have mentioned your sister would be of only 14 years.

My son born in 25.4.2012. Now he is in lkg. But they r asking us to put him in the same class next year too. They are not giving admission for ukg. Even though he performs well we didn't get seats in named popular schools . They are telling to avoid problems in 10 board exams.But still some other growing schools are ready to give seat for ukg. The minimum age criteria to be appear in 10th board exam is at least 14 year 6 month. Maximum age limit is not set yet. But when your age is less than 14 year 6 month you are not allowed to appear in 10th board.

is there any exception in age limit for appearing in CBSE exam if any recognized school has given Transfer certificate below 14 years of age.

if any recognized school in Tamilnadu has given Transfer certificate will the person can able to apply for x cbse exam below age 14.

Hello there,
My daughter is aDecember month born of the year 2012 and with a declaration letter from the parents a polpular school agreed to admit her into LKG despite a shortage of 4 months to meet the 3.10 criteria (my daughter will be 3.6 instead).
Now I'm worried if my decision is right for my daughter or not. I hope im not risking her future considering the CBSE regulations on the age criteria to appear for 10th std board exam.
Kindly advise.

Age Criteria for CBSE 10th board examination:


The CBSE(Central Board Of Secondary Education) board has not fixed any age for apper in the 10th board examination.

The all you need to satisfy the preferred age limit by the government for the schools.

Generally most state government suggests that the appearing student must have completed his/her 15 years. Means that you can apply if your age is 15 years or more.

You are in 9th standard and you Age is 13 years now.
You are going perfectly fine with your age because at the time when you will appear for 10th standard board examination you wil already had attained the age of 14 which is required.
So, don't worry.

Yes your daughter is eligible for class for class 10 in this age because their is 15 year minimum and your daughter is less than 15. So there is no problem in filling of registration form of cbse for class 10

Minimum age limit defined by CBSE board to be appear in class 10th is as follows-

A candidate must have minimum 14 years of age and maximum age must be 16 years.
There is no any other criteria for appearing in class 10th CBSE.
The central board defined only age criteria .
A candidate must be 9th passed to appear in class 10th exam of CBSE.
A candidate who is fulfilling the above criteria is very well eligible for CBSE 10th exam.

My DOB is 08/07/2004 and I study in class 9 so I want to know that is there is any problem going to be in 9 class registration.

There is no official notification regarding the age limit to appear for 10th board examination by CBSE.

So, I will be not eligible to give you the correct data regarding the age limit.

For every state there is different age limit to appear in examination as it is Directorate of respective state which determine the age criteria.

So, visit official website of respective body to get the age limit.
